[Boston, MA – November 17, 2025] — Musician and producer David O’Leary has released his newest single, The Fear Within, an introspective, emotionally charged song that merges analog musicianship with generative AI vocals. The result is a haunting reflection on the creative process itself: the tension between courage and self-doubt, and the invisible barriers artists face when confronting their own fears.

“This was my first experiment using generative AI,” says O’Leary. “I wrote all the music, lyrics, melodies, and arrangements. The guitar solos are by Bruce Bouillet (Racer X) and drums by Mike Vanderhule (Y&T). I played bass, rhythm guitars, and keyboards—all analog and very human.”

The vocals, however, tell another story. Created using Suno AI, they were meticulously crafted over two days—cut, pasted, and processed to sound as expressive and human as possible. “Ironically, I wanted the AI to sound human,” O’Leary explains. “That mirrors the theme of the song—the fear and vulnerability that come with creating something new.”

The lyrics capture that fragile, inner struggle:

In the mirror, there’s a face that’s lost its light, A thousand fears weighing down each sleepless night…

If I keep hiding away, I’ll never see the dawn, Lost in the shadows of the chances that are gone.

Throughout the song, O’Leary wrestles with the universal creative question—what happens when fear keeps us from moving forward? “The Fear Within” transforms that doubt into something raw and resonant, pairing powerful guitar work and live percussion with a voice that is both artificial and achingly human.
